New Delhi, Mar 27 : The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of tenure of Madhukar Gupta as the Home Secretary for another three months.
Gupta, who is an IAS officer of Uttarakhand Cadre of 1971 batch, would be retiring from the Home Secretary post on March 31. Now, the government has approved the extension of his service for a period of three months beyond the date of completion of the two years of his tenure on March 31, 2009, i.e. until June 30, 2009.
