Early Times report Jammu, Mar 28- The death of former minister and veteran politician Ghulam Nabi Kochak who passed away today has been widely mourned
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has condoled the demise of senior politician and former minister, Ghulam Nabi Kochak who passed away at his Srinagar residence today.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister described late Kochak as a veteran politician and recalled his services to the people as a political worker and minister. He said the late leader will be remembered for his service to the people and the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Minister expressed deep sympathy with the bereaved family in the hour of its grief and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Prof Saifuddin Soz, Union Minister for Water Resources and President Jammu and Kashmir Congress Committee has expressed profound grief over the sad demise of former Jammu and Kashmir minister and veteran leader, Ghulam Nabi Kochak who died today following a heart attack.
Prof. Soz in his condolence message said that Kochak was a close associate of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah who had served the State in various capacities. He served as a minister of state in Sheikh's cabinet (1975-77) and later as cabinet minister and served the people of the State for a long time.
Prof. Soz conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Minister for Finance Abdul Rahim Rather, Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Ali Mohammed Sagar, Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Minister for Tourism and Culture Nawang Rigzin Jora, Minister for Forest and Environment Mian Altaf Ahmed, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Surjit Singh Salathia, Minister for School Education, Peerzada Mohammad Sayed and Minister for Health and Medical Education Sham Lal Sharma have also condoled the death of former Minister and veteran politician and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
