Soz says cong will retain power
3/28/2009 11:13:31 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, March 28 Union Water Resources Minister and senior Congress leader Saifuddin Soz Saturday expressed confidence that his party would return to power after the Lok Sabha elections.
Soz, the state Congress chief, is spearheading the Congress campaign in Jammu and Kashmir, where the party has a seat-sharing arrangement with ruling partner National Conference.
“Our alliance with the National Conference is firm and we hope to win all the seats that the alliance candidates would contest in the state,” Soz said.
Jammu and Kashmir has six Lok Sabha seats and the two alliance partners are fighting for three seats each.
“The people know the work the (United Progressive Alliance) UPA government under the leadership of Manmohan Singh has done all these years,” Soz said. “They will vote for the Congress and return it to the power. And I am sure that it would be with a thumping majority.”
