JAMMU, Oct 13: Members of the Inner Wheel Club (IWC) Jammu recently organized an impactful period talk session at Jhugi Jhompadi, where mothers and daughters were educated about menstruation and their rights. It was a truly rewarding experience for the team to interact with the young mothers and daughters, fostering open conversations about menstrual hygiene and empowering them with knowledge.
As part of the project, hygiene kits, including sanitary napkins, were distributed, along with refreshments of chana and gud. Club President Manisha Sharma, along with other members, brought together women from the slums, encouraging them to sit together and discuss their hygiene practices and rights in a safe and supportive environment.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to raise awareness and promote menstrual hygiene among underprivileged communities. |
