ADGP Jammu reviews arrangements for Annual National Police Day function

Jammu, Oct 14: Additional Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Jammu Sh. Anand Jain–IPS, chaired a meeting of senior Police officers at Zonal Police Hqrs. Jammu this evening to discuss various arrangements for the National Police Day, National Police Day, popularly known as Police Commemoration Day.
It is observed on 21st October every year in the memory of 10 Police personnel (CRPF) who laid down their lives while fighting the Chinese invasion at Hot Spring (Ladakh) during the year 1959.
The main function will be held at Police Martyrs Memorial Rail Head, Jammu followed by National Police Day Parade at Gulshan Ground, Jammu. During the functions, rich tributes will be paid to all the martyrs of Police force who made the supreme sacrifice in line of duty for unity and integrity of country.
In addition, a blood donation camp will also be organized after the culmination of the Commemoration Day Parade at Gulshan Ground, Jammu.
While briefing the officers, ADGP Jammu Zone directed them to put in their best efforts to ensure adequate logistic /security arrangements at the venues for the smooth conduct of the National Police Day function. He directed the senior Police Officers present in the meeting to spread awareness among the general public regarding the importance of the Day. He also exhorted the participants to ensure participation of Police personnel as well as general Public in large numbers on the day and acknowledge the sacrifices made by the martyrs.
The meeting was attended by Ms Sarah Rizvi IPS, DIG IRP Range Jammu, Ms Sargun Shukla IPS, Commandant, IRP 15th Bn., Commandant, SDRF 2nd Bn.
