PSPS GCW Gandhinagar, Canara Bank Collaborate to Offer Free Digital Learning, Certification

Jammu, Oct 14: In a significant initiative to promote digital learning and skill enhancement, the Government of India, in partnership with Canara Bank (A Government of India Undertaking), is offering free access to a wide variety of online courses and certification programs via Coursera. This initiative is aimed at empowering the youth aged 18-28 with world-class educational resources and credentials that are recognized both nationally and internationally.
The program provides an unprecedented opportunity for students to upskill, facilitating their pursuit of higher education and opening doors to national and global job opportunities. With courses across diverse fields such as technology, business, science, and the arts, this initiative aligns with India’s vision of creating a digitally empowered society.
The event took place at the Auditorium of the college. Dr. Naresh Sharma , Convenor Career Counselling cell welcome the guests and Dr Ashok, Head Department of Biochemistry gave a brief about the programme. Speaking about the initiative, Mandar Teredesai,Chief Manager from Canara Bank said, “This initiative is a great step towards empowering our youth with the skills they need to succeed in a fast-evolving global job market.
Approximately 350 students participated in the event and different officials of Canara bank including Sushil Kumar, Senior Manager,Vinod Kumar Manager ,Arun Kumar, PO,Priyanka ,PO and Rahul FotedarCSA were also present. The event was organised by career counselling team of college including Dr Rajinder, Prof Suman Bala, Dr Asha Devi, Prof Vinay lata and Prof Sugandha Mahajan.
The vote of thanks was presented by Prof Poonam Kesar.
