Induction day ceremony held at ASCOMS

Jammu, Oct 14: The Induction Ceremony of 1st Prof. MBBS students (Batch 2024) of ASCOMS was held in the College auditorium on 14th October 2024. The ceremony was attended by 1st Prof Students, their parents, management, faculty members and other staff members of the institution. Dr. Gautam Mengi, Joint Secretary, Governing Body, ASCOMS was the Chief Guest on the occasion and Sh. Rakesh Raman Ji, Member Trustee, Governing Body, was the Guest of Honour on this occasion.
Dr. Rajesh K Gupta, Prof. & Head Deptt. of Orthopaedics and Medical Education Unit, Coordinator gave a brief outlay of this Induction Ceremony and apprised the students about new curriculum. He also laid stress that the students should be regular in their academic activities and not short fall in their attendance. The activity was attended by Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal, ASCOMS & Hospital, Dr. K.S. Mehta, Prof & HOD, Surgery, Dr. R. K. Gupta, Prof & HOD Paediatrics and Dr. Geetika Gupta, Prof & HOD Physiology, Dr. V.J. Chrungoo, HOD Biochemistry, Dr. R.K. Khajuria, Prof & HOD, Community Medicine and Dr. Bella Mahajan, Prof & HOD Microbiology among others. Dr. Gautam Mengi, Chief Guest, on the occasion, highlighted the teachings and vision of Bagwan Acharya Shri Chander Ji Udasin towards service of mankind and gave a brief history of Bagwan Ji’s life. He also lauded the efforts of founder President Mahant Shri Krishan Das Ji Udasin in establishing this institution. He also highlighted the efforts of Pujya Chander Swami Ji Udasin who left no stone unturned in establishing this Institution in Jammu region. He also appreciated the efforts of Shri Dharam Vir Batra Ji in establishment of this Institution. He lauded the contribution of His Holiness, Swami Prem Vivekanand Ji for upliftment of this institution to its present status.
Dr. Ravinder K Gupta, presented a detailed presentation regarding various academic, sports and cultural activities conducted by the Institution in the past and recent months. He encouraged and advised the students to actively participate in such type of activities which will be conducted in future.
Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal addressed the gathering with his inspirational words. He stressed the students to maintain decorum of this noble profession and study with zeal and honesty. He specially advised new entrants to shun away from both mental and physical addiction. He also advised the students to make best utilization of the time balancing between the academic and extra academic activities.
Dr. Zeenat Akhter, HOD Deptt. of Anatomy delivered the “Charak Shapath”in English and Dr. Navneet Kour, Assistant Professor, Physiology Department delivered oath in Hindi, which was sworn in by the 1st Prof. students.
