Dr Darakhshan Andrabi visits Dastgeer Sahib Shrine

KHANYAR, Oct 14: Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson, Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, visited the revered Dastgeer Sahib Shrine at Khanyar, Srinagar, today to oversee the arrangements for the Annual Urs celebrations. The Urs, which attracts pilgrims from across the region, honors the legacy of Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani, known as Dastgeer Sahib.
During her visit, Dr. Andrabi reviewed the ongoing facilities at the shrine, ensuring the smooth coordination between the Waqf Board and various government departments. Speaking with pilgrims and management staff, she issued instructions for improving and updating services to enhance the overall experience for devotees.
Dr. Andrabi expressed her gratitude towards the district administration and other government agencies for their cooperation in facilitating the arrangements. "The teachings of Dastgeer Sahib are universally relevant," she said while addressing the media. "He represents the epitome of spiritual excellence. By celebrating him, we are celebrating the ethos of human excellence."
She further emphasized that Dastgeer Sahib's teachings resonate with people of all communities in Kashmir, underlining the spirit of unity and peace. Dr. Andrabi concluded her visit by offering prayers for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of humanity.
