User awareness programme organized by the Government College of Education Library

JAMMU, Oct 15: The Government College of Education, Jammu successfully organized a 3 days User Awareness Programme on 11th , 14th and 15th october to acquaint newly enrolled students with the college library's services, rules, and resources. The programme, spearheaded by the College librarian, Usha Kumari and her team, provided students with valuable insights into both the printed and electronic resources available through the college library.
The event saw the enthusiastic participation of the B.Ed. and M.Ed. students, who benefited from a live demonstration of important library tools and databases. The session covered access and use of:
NLIST (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content)
DELNET (Developing Library Network)
Arts and Science Academic Publishing Resources
The participants were guided step-by-step through these platforms, making it easier for them to access e-journals, e-books, and other scholarly content available through the library's subscriptions. Additionally, the librarian and her team explained the library rules and demonstrated various services offered by the library, helping students understand how to make the most of these resources throughout their academic journey.
The entire programme was conducted under the able guidance of the college Principal, Dr. Jyoti Parihar, whose leadership ensured the event's smooth execution and relevance for the students. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students' queries regarding library usage were addressed.
