| Land mafia deprives 250 KP families of land at Bahadurgarh | | Depressed families seek Hooda’s intervention; plan to meet Omar | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 29- Expressing grave concern over grabbing of land belonging to 250 hapless Kashmir Pandit families at Bahadurgarh, Haryana allegedly by the land mafia, the All State Kashmir Pandit Conference(ASKPC) has sought Chief Minister Haryana, Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s intervention in restoring the land to its owners. In an appeal to Hooda, ASKPC general secretary HL Chatta said that these KP families had purchased the land in 1991 after the mass migration of the community from Valley through valid sale deeds for their younger ones. But the same land has been resold by the seller way back in 2002 to some third party leaving the owners in lurch, who all these years have been moving from pillar to post to get their land restored back. The ASKPC leader said though these migrant families had taken various measures against this land mafia who sold the land to them for which the valid revenue documents are in their possession but all in vain thus putting the depressed and houseless migrants on cross roads. He said though the matter is lying in SDM’s office Bahadurgarh since long but it is being deliberately delayed at the instance of land mafia who grabbed it. Seeking the intervention of the Haryana Chief Minister, Chatta appealed him to save these hapless families from unfortunate happenings and mental agony. He said these migrants who have already lost their houses and other property in Kashmir valley are presently living as tenants in Jammu and other parts of the country. He urged the Chief Minister to issue necessary directive to the concerned authorities and get the land restored to the owners who have purchased it legally after paying the hard earned money. In the meantime, the affected families have decided to meet the state Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah also for his intervention in the matter. They in a statement have expressed their confidence that Omar Abdullah would take up this urgent issue with his counterpart at Haryana and help solve the problem and get the land restored to the Kashmiri Pandits
