Farooq meets PM; requests increase in Haj quota for J&K

New DElhi
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference Patron Farooq Abdullah today met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and requested him to increase the Haj quota for the state.


During the half-an-hour meeting, Abdullah appreciated the stand taken by India in talks with Pakistan.

He also demanded adequate release of compensation to victims of 8th October, 2005 quake in the state.

Political and militancy situation in the state also figured in the talks, sources said.
