| 60,000 pilgrims visit SMVD Shrine during first two day of Navratras | | | Early Times Report
Katra, Mar 29- About 60,000 pilgrims from different parts of the country visited the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Deviji during the first 2-days of holy auspicious Chaitra Navratras which commenced from 27th of this month, with this the total number of visiting pilgrims at the Cave Shrine has gone up to 12.52 lakh since January this year which is 1.87 lakh more than the corresponding period last year. This was disclosed by the Additional Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB, M K Dwivedi here today. In the first fortnight of the current month as many as 2,80,652 devotees paid their obeisance at the Holy Cave Shrine while during the same period last year 2,04,669 pilgrims had darshan at Holy Shrine. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine is becoming very popular and visited by increasing number of pilgrims every year. The Shrine Board has provided improved facilities to the visiting pilgrims and made elaborate arrangements especially for Navratras. Entire area of Bhawan is fully decorated with different type of flowers. Chatt Chandi Maha Yagya is also arranged by the Shrine Board at Bhawan in which 51 renowned Pandits are daily reciting Durga Path and performing hawan for peace and tranquility in the country. The Board has also arranged food items on their bhojanyals for the devotees who observe fast during Navratras. Proper arrangements for sanitation, drinking water and other required facilities have also been made en-route to Bhawan. Meanwhile, the Durga Pooja Samiti Katra town has also arranged a holy function during Chaitra Navratras at Bus Stand Katra where hundreds of pilgrims and locals offer prayer and participate in the Arti performed morning and evening every day.
