ASCOMS & Hospital organizes divisional round of 37th IAP quiz

JAMMU, Oct 18: Department of Paediatrics, Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences & Hospital, Sidhra, Jammu in association with Indian Academy of Paediatrics under the supervision of Dr. Ravinder K Gupta, Prof & HOD, Paediatric organized Divisional Round of 37th IAP Quiz today in the College Auditorium on 17th of October, 2024 in which the undergraduate students from the different medical colleges of Jammu Division participated. Teams from AIIMS Vijaypur (Arushi & Khushi), GMC Jammu (Akansha & Aman), ASCOMS (Abid & Saqib), GMC Doda (Imran & Bilal) and GMC Rajouri (Maryam & Harshita) of final year MBBS participated. The team from AIIMS Vijaypur emerged as winners after defeating team ASCOMS by a narrow margin and qualifies for the zonal round which will be held at Amritsar.
Dr. G.V. Basavaraja, Central IAP President, 2024 in his virtual address encouraged the efforts of IAP Jammu and ASCOMS Hospital in conducting the Quiz. He praised the Management of ASCOMS for their support in holding this academic event for Undergraduates. He also informed that ASCOMS is having its name and reputation in organizing and encouraging students for participation in such type of scientific activities among the 700 colleges of pan India. He also said that ASCOMS has won many Quiz competitions in the past both at UG as well as PG level which speaks about the zeal, dedication, efficiency and intelligentsia of faculty and students. He gave best wishes for conducting of Quiz.
Dr. Ashok Gupta, Ex Prof. & HOD, Paediatrics GMC Jammu was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Dr. G.S Saini & Dr. N.K Pargal were among the Guest of Honours. Dr. K.S. Mehta, Officiating Director Principal and Prof & HOD, Surgery, was also present. The other dignitaries present on the occasion were, Dr. Ashu Jamwal, Dr. Mohd. Razzak, Dr. Ashwani, Dr. Deepak Gupta, Dr. Priyanaka Sharma, Dr. Pooja Bharti, Dr. Deepak Sharma, Dr. Radhika Uppal, Dr. Rajesh Gupta and Dr. Tahir. Faculty, students and staff members were also present and witnessed the proceedings and enjoyed the Quiz.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. KS Mehta, lauded the efforts made by Dr. Ravinder K. Gupta, Prof. & HOD Deptt. of Paediatrics , President IAP Jammu and his team for organizing such type of scientific activities..
Dr. Ashok Gupta, the Chief Guest while speaking on the occasion, lauded the team from department of paediatric for conducting this scientific activity under the guidance of Dr. Ravinder K Gupta and he also praised the Management of ASCOMS for holding this activity.
Dr. Manoj Sharma, Assistant Professor, Paediatrics was the Organizing Secretary of this activity while Dr. Vikas Mahajan, Assoc. Professor, Dr. Sushil Sharma and Dr. Wajid Rana were the Quiz Masters. Dr. Vikas Sharma, Dr. Anandi Gandotra and Dr. Deepanshu Saini also assisted in smooth conduct of this scientific activity.
