Jammu, Mar 29- The Department of Economics, University of Jammu supported by the Indian Council for Social Science Research is organizing a two-day seminar on "Development of Special Category States: Problems and Prospects" here tomorrow. Prof V.R. Panchmukhi, former Chairman of ICSSR will be chief guest.
The seminar aims at discussing problems of Himalayan States designated as Special Category States which get special grants from the Centre. However, this special dispensation has not helped and most of these states are in the throes of militancy which has impeded development. To discuss these issues eminent scholars have been invited from all over India.
