3/30/2009 12:25:16 AM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 29- It is almost hide and seek game between the troops and
the militants on the LoC during the last three weeks. Official sources said that despite the fact that 20 militants were killed in two encounters with the troops in Kupwara, Gurez and Tral during the last eight days infiltration of militants, equipped with sophisticated
weapons, continue to sneak into Jammu and Kashmir.
Official sources said that militants continue to infiltrate from across Kupwara, Keran, Gurez, Poonch and Rajouri. They said that these infiltrators play hide and seek with the troops guarding the border. Explaining it the sources said that since these infiltrators cross into Jammu and Kashmir in small groups’ elimination of one group by
the troops leave scope for other groups to go in hiding. Once members of one group of infiltrators were killed the troops believe that there was no other group of infiltrators.
Sources said that agencies across the LoC had started aiding ingress
to make militants capable for wrecking the Lok Sabha election in the state. There are six Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir and militants have directions to concentrate on the three constituencies in the Kashmir valley and at least one in the Jammu region. According to intelligence inputs they have been asked to use grenades and IEDs while attacking the pre-poll rallies. They have been asked to create as much scare as was needed for ensuring total response to the separatist call for poll boycott. Police said that additional companies of police and paramilitary forces were to be deployed in the sensitive areas so that militants were not able to sabotage the poll process. Experts have suggested to the troops, guarding the border to try to arrest one of the members of the infiltrators group so that information could be secured from them about the Pak plan.
