Awareness Workshop for Farmers on PM-KUSUM Yojana held

Reasi, Oct 23: Agriculture Skill Council of India(ASCI) and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Reasi under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised workshop on PM-KUSUM(Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthan Mahabhiyan) yojana here today at Akhali Bhutan village in Reasi distt. of J&K which was attended by number of women farmers of the area. The programme was organized under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. B.N. Tripathi and guidance of Director Extension, Prof. Amrish Vaid of SKUAST-J.
The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi, Dr.Banarsi Lal. He briefed the objective of the programme and discussed on the advantages of yojana. During the programme, S.Yashwant Singh, Chief Operating Oficer, Centre of Excellence for Agriculture, ASCI, New Delhi spoke in detail on PM-KUSUM yojan and guided farmers on the advantages of PM-KUSUM yojana.
He said that the PM-KUSUM yojana was launched by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), GOI to increase the income of the farmers and provides the sources of irrigation and de-dieselization the agricultural sector. He also discussed on different types of solar plants and their installation process.
He highlighted the successful cases of PM-KUSUM and get feedback of the participants about the yojana. Dr.Banarsi spoke on various other agril. schemes and gave a detail view on scientific agriculture. He stressed on commercial agriculture and guided farmers on organic formulations for more profits.
He also discussed on Atam Nirbar Krishi and stressed on natural farming.He elaborated the scientific farming for enhancing the farmers’ income and stressed on SHGs/FPOs for more profits.
He also discussed on monkeys menace management and emphasized on spices and flower crops cultivation. A special video show on PM-KUSUM yojana was also arganised by the farmers. Participants asked various quarries regarding the PM-KUSUM yojana which were answered by the officials in an efficient way. The programme was assisted by Sh. Mohd. Iqbal and concluded by Sh. Manohar Lal with formal vote of thanks.
