JAMMU, Oct 23: Mission Shakti SANKALP Hub for Empowerment of Women, under the Social Welfare Department, organized an informative awareness session today at Panjgrain village, Nagrota. The event aimed to educate local women about government schemes designed to enhance their lives and well-being.
Officials from Mission Shakti delivered lectures on various women-centric initiatives, including the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), State Marriage Assistance Scheme (SMAS), Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), and pension schemes for widows and the elderly. They also discussed skill-oriented courses at ITIs and polytechnics, as well as business startup schemes like PMEGP, TEJASWINI, and MUMKIN.
Zeeshan, Panchayat Secretary from the BDO Office, facilitated discussions on rural development programs, particularly the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), outlining eligibility criteria and application processes.
The session saw enthusiastic participation from local women, who actively engaged in discussions and sought guidance on leveraging these schemes. This initiative highlights Mission Shakti's dedication to reaching rural communities and ensuring women are informed about available support.
The awareness session is part of Mission Shakti Jammu's ongoing efforts to empower women, providing them with the knowledge and resources necessary to achieve their full potential.
