Police debate competition tackles human rights violations and organized crime

JAMMU, Oct 23: The Zonal Police Headquarters in Jammu organized a Range Level Debate Competition today, focusing on the critical topic of human rights violations in the context of organized crime, including terrorist activities, human trafficking, and narcotics smuggling.
Under the supervision of Sh. Anand Jain-IPS, ADGP Jammu Zone, and chaired by Sh. Shiv Kumar Sharma-IPS, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, the event took place at the Conference Hall of DPL Jammu. The competition featured participants from various Ranges and Districts across the Jammu Zone.
In the debate, PSI Abhinav R. Salgotra (PID No. EXJ-196678) and PSI Sharaz Ahmed (PID No. EXJ-196268) spoke for the motion, with Salgotra securing the 1st position. Conversely, W/Ct. Asma Choudhary (No. 400/1st Women Bn.) and PSI Yasir Arafat (PID No. EXJ-196268) spoke against the motion, with Choudhary also taking the 1st position in that category.
The jury for the event included notable members such as Sh. Anwar-ul-Haq-JKPS, SP PCR Jammu; Sh. Irshad Hussain-JKPS, SP Hqrs. Jammu; Smt. Pooja Nijhon-JKPS, Sr. PO DPO Jammu; and Sh. Hemanshu Mahajan-JKPS, Sr. PO ZPHQ Jammu.
At the conclusion of the program, DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma and SSP Jammu, Sh. Joginder Singh, commended all participants for their efforts and congratulated the winners. This event not only highlighted the importance of addressing human rights violations but also fostered a spirit of dialogue and awareness among law enforcement officials.
