Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 24: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Career Counseling Cell of Government College for Women (GCW) Bhagwati Nagar held the valedictory function for a one-month Skill Development Course on "Food Preservation" on October 24, 2024. Organized in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture, Govt. of J&K (UT), the program aimed to enhance participants' knowledge and employability in the horticulture and food industries. The course, which began on September 18, attracted students and staff members and included hands-on workshops, expert lectures, and practical demonstrations on canning, pickling, and drying techniques. Gul Syed, Deputy Director of the Department of Horticulture, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of food preservation in reducing waste and promoting sustainability. Principal Dr. Meeru Abrol expressed gratitude to all involved and highlighted the college's commitment to practical education and community engagement. The event featured participants showcasing preserved food products they created during the course, and awards were presented to outstanding attendees. The function concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, celebrating the participants' achievements. |
