Indian Red Cross Society, conducts first aid training program

JAMMU, Oct 24: The Indian Red Cross Society, J&K UT, successfully organized an eight-day First Aid training program from October 16 to 24, 2024, for volunteers and the general public. Under the supervision of Sh. Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary of IRCS, J&K, the training covered essential topics, including disaster management techniques for earthquakes, fires, floods, and comprehensive first aid skills.
Participants learned about various first aid techniques for managing wounds, bandages, fractures, bleeding emergencies, and burns. The program emphasized critical emergency procedures, such as resuscitating individuals experiencing fainting or cardiac arrest, as well as practical demonstrations of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and choking management.
In addition, a special lecture on drug de-addiction was conducted, and participants received free eye check-ups. The training sessions were facilitated by the Red Cross team, including Dr. Kavita Nijhon Verma and Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Medical Officers, alongside Sh. Ravi Kant Magotra and Sh. Joginder Kumar, Pharmacists. The program aimed to equip attendees with vital skills to respond effectively in emergencies.
