GGM Science College triumphs in Kabaddi Tournaments

JAMMU, Oct 24: The Cluster University of Jammu successfully organized the final matches of the Inter College Kabaddi (Men & Women) tournaments at GCW Gandhi Nagar, Jammu wherein GGM Science College made a stellar impact, emerging victorious in the men's category and securing the runner-up position in the women's category for the 2024-2025 session.
The tournament was arranged under the guidance of Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director of Physical Education & Sports, and the College teams had the supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of GGM Science College. Both the teams demonstrated remarkable skill and determination for which Principal Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta extended heartfelt congratulations to the men's team for their triumph and expressed confidence that the women's teams will continue to deliver outstanding results in future competitions. He also commended Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Dr. Sunil Dutt (Convener Sports), Dr. Amit Bali (Incharge, Men's Kabaddi Team), and Dr. Preeti Verma (Incharge, Women's Kabaddi Team) for their dedicated leadership.
In the Men's Section, GGM Science College clinched victory against Govt. SPMR College in a decisive match, defeating them by a score of 42-18 points. Notable players Tanuj Sayal, Vansh Sharma, and Akhil Choudhary delivered exceptional performances, contributing significantly to the team's success. In the Women's Section, GGM Science College faced GCW Gandhi Nagar in the final match. Despite a valiant effort, the GGM Science College team was defeated, with GCW Gandhi Nagar winning by 36-11 points. The matches were officiated by a skilled team of referees, including Jasdev Singh, Ajay Wadhara, Sanjeet Sharma, and Kajal Saini. This remarkable achievement highlights the sportsmanship and dedication of GGM Science College's teams and sets a high bar for future competitions.
