| Students group returns from educational tour | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 30 -A group of 34 students and three teachers who were sent on an educational- cum -motivational tour to Pune, Mumbai and Goa on March 16, under the Sadbhavana initiative of the Indian Army, was flagged in by the General Officer Commanding, Ace of Spade Division at Rajouri today. On this occasion, a function was organized by the Army in the presence of prominent military and civilian dignitaries and the children’s parents. During the tour the children visited the important places and historical sites in Mumbai, Pune and Goa. Some of the important places visited were the National Defence Academy in Pune, the Taj and Oberoi Hotels and the INS Vikrant at Mumbai, the St Bashilica Church, Aguada Fort and various beaches of Goa. The children also had an opportunity to see the fish aquarium and Bagh-e- Bahu Fort at Jammu. The tour exposed the children to the development which has taken place in the country as well as its diverse religious, cultural and social fabric. The experience gained during the tour will instill a sense of belongingness towards the nation besides establishing closer relations between the Army and the local populace. The students who participated in the tour and their parents were highly appreciative of the role of the Army and thanked them for providing an opportunity to see and experience the rich heritage of our great country.
