Pledge ceremony to mark Vigilance Awareness Week

JAMMU, Oct 28: A pledge ceremony to mark the commencement of Vigilance Awareness Week was conducted at the Zonal Police Headquarters, Jammu. The ceremony marked a significant step towards reaffirming our commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability in our daily duties and responsibilities.
During the ceremony, all police officers, police personnel, and other staff members of ZPHQ Jammu took a pledge to uphold the principles of integrity, transparency, and accountability in their professional and personal lives. They also committed to working towards a corruption-free society.
Vishal Manhas, SP, S.O. to ADGP Jammu, administered the pledge in which all officers and personnel solemnly vowed to discharge their duties with honesty, impartiality, and transparency. They committed to refuse and report any form of corrupt practices, ensuring a corruption-free environment in their respective domains.
In his address, S.O. to ADGP Jammu stated, "Corruption is a menace that undermines the very foundation of our democracy and the principles of justice and equality. It is our duty as law enforcement officers to lead by example and ensure that we uphold the highest ethical standards in all our actions. Today, we pledge to combat corruption with unwavering resolve and dedication."
The Vigilance awareness week is an annual event observed by the Central Vigilance Commission to create awareness about corruption and encourage people to report corrupt practices. The police department is actively participating in the week-long observance through various activities, including seminars, workshops, and awareness campaigns. The department is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency and aims to strengthen the trust and confidence of the public.
The ceremony was attended by Sajad Ahmed Bhat, Chief Prosecutor Officer, ZPHQ Jammu; J.S. Slathia, DySP, Pvt. Secy to ADGP Jammu; Himanshu Gupta, Sr. Prosecuting Officer, ZPHQ Jammu; S. Narinder Singh, DySP, ADO ZPHQ Jammu; and all officers/officials posted at ZPHQ Jammu.
