JAMMU, Oct 30: The Government College for Women (GCW) in Parade Ground, Jammu, successfully concluded a three-day volunteer initiative, "Diwali with MYBharat," promoting civic responsibility during the Diwali season. Organized by the NSS Regional Directorate under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the program saw 120 volunteers from various Jammu colleges participate in activities aimed at improving community spaces.
Key Activities:
Hospital Volunteering: Volunteers assisted patients in GMC Jammu's OPD and Emergency.
Market Cleaning: Cleanliness drives were held in collaboration with the All India Traders Association in markets like Parade and Kanak Mandi.
Traffic Management: In partnership with Traffic Police and the Motor Vehicle Department, volunteers helped regulate traffic at busy intersections.
The program concluded with remarks from Dr. Ravender Kumar Tickoo, GCW Parade's Principal, and was coordinated by Dr. Gurpreet Kour, the NSS Program Officer. The initiative aimed to instill civic responsibility and set an example for the community during the festive season. |
