| Leela Karan silences his critics for making false accusations | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 30- Continuing his mass contact program for the second day, the BJP candidate for Jammu-Poonch constituency Leela Karan Sharma addressed a number of public meetings in Shakti Nagar, Purani Mandi, Bahu Fort, Trikuta Nagar and Nanak Nagar areas of the Jammu city. He was accompanied by BJP State President Ashok Khajuria and State Secretary Yudhvir Sethi. Ashok Khajuria while addressing these meetings said that the coming elections are very crucial for the nation as the people will decide who will head the new government in the country. The people will have to be very cautious while exercising their franchise. They will have to see the past role of the Congress and its allies. He said the people of the country still remember the 6-year rule of NDA terming it as the ‘golden period’ because a common Indian did not have to face price rise or insecurity. He said the people once again want the BJP-led NDA to come to power and expressed confidence that this dream of the people will be fulfilled. He asked the party activists to reach the masses in every nook and corner to expose the policies of the Congress, NC and PDP as a result of which a common man is facing hardships. Addressing the gatherings at these places, Leela Karan Sharma said that those making false accusations against him should acquaint themselves with the facts that "I have association with the BJP and its erstwhile Praja Parishad since 1962 and has been member of the BJP’ state executive from 1990 to 1994 and thereafter have been mostly associated with social activities and for welfare of Jammu. He said such leaders have no agenda to go to public and are making this type of propaganda in frustration. Why don’t these leaders speak over militancy and unemployment? Why these leaders do not ask the government about the fate of the funds amounting to crores of rupees meant for development? He asked. He said the Congress-led UPA is adopting appeasement policy for votes which is a serious matter. He questioned as to why Afzal Guru, the main culprit for attack on Parliament, has not been hanged despite the fact that he has been held guilty by the Supreme Court, the highest court of the country. He further questioned "is vote more important for the Congress than the nation’s security, integrity and hounour?" BJP leaders including S. Charanjit Singh Khalsa, Shiv Kumar Gupta, Jaideep Sharma, Vikram Randhawa, Ramesh Sharma, Priya Sethi, Surinder Choudhary and Rajiv Charak also addressed these gatherings.
