Training Program for CPIOs Concludes at SKPA Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Oct 31: A three-day training program for Central Public Information Officers (CPIOs), focusing on enhancing transparency and accountability in governance, concluded today at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), Udhampur, with a valedictory ceremony. The program, organized by SKPA Udhampur, included 20 officers from Jammu and Kashmir Police, including SPs, Sr. Prosecuting Officers, and Dy.SPs, and aimed to strengthen RTI Act implementation and handling RTI applications effectively.
In his valedictory address, Shri Rajinder Kumar Gupta praised the dedication of the participants, emphasizing the essential role of CPIOs in empowering citizens by facilitating access to information and fostering public trust. Key highlights of the program included:
Comprehensive discussions on RTI Act provisions, recent amendments, and best practices.
Training on drafting clear and effective responses to RTI requests while adhering to statutory deadlines.
Insights on managing complex or sensitive information requests.
Exploration of the evolving landscape of information rights and the role of CPIOs in navigating them.
