| India not 'serious' about Kashmir issue: Ansari | | | Srinagar, Sep 22 Claiming that Pakistan has shown flexibility in the Kashmir issue, a top leader of the the moderate faction of the Hurriyat Conference today said India is not "serious and sincere" about resolving the dispute. "India has not yet budged an inch from its stand, which was enough proof that it is not serious and sincere about resolving the kashmir issue," former Hurriyat chairman Maulvi Abbas Ansari told a Friday prayer congregation at Sajadabad here.
The situation in South Asia can take an "explosive turn at any time" and it is imperative for India to adopt a realistic policy and initiate a serious dialogue to resolve the issue in line with the wishes of the people of Kashmir, he said.
The Kashmiris would not abandon their struggle till an honourable solution to the Kashmir issue is found, he said.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the hardline faction of the Hurriyat, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, said Kashmir "is not an issue of terrorism or extremism but a human issue".
"Kashmir is a human issue involving the future of people which cannot be supressed by military might," he told a public meeting at Dogripora in Pulwama district today. |
