| No parallels between Mumbai, Lahore: Chidambaram | | November strike was clearly planned in Pak | | AGENCIES New Delhi, March 30: India on Monday condemned the attack on police training centre in Pakistan but ruled out its parallels with the Mumbai attack of November 26th last year.
Expressing India’s deepest sympathies to the people of Pakistan, Home minister P Chidambaram, when asked whether he saw any parallels between the Lahore incident and the Mumbai attacks, said: “There can be no parallels. The only commonality is that they are terror attacks”.
"In the case of Mumbai, the source is known to be Pakistani soil. We don't know about the (source of) Lahore attack. Therefore, it would be completely wrong to draw a parallel."
"We don't have full information. We are deeply concerned. We condemn the terrorist attack,” he said.
Condemning the deadly attack, Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma said the incident showed that the terror infrastructure in Pakistan was growing.
Pakistan will have to continue dismantling the terror infrastructure on its soil which is a threat to several countries, he said. |
