DC conducts surprise inspection of G&B Hostel

SHOPIAN, Nov 2: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today conducted a surprise inspection of Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel, Shopian to oversee its functioning and take stock of the facilities available for the inmate students.
The DC checked all the facilities of bedding, water, menu, smart classrooms, library services, recreation Hall, etc.
He interacted with the students and staff there and discussed various issues concerning the better functioning of Hostel, which houses numerous students belonging to far off and tribal areas of the district.
The DC had dinner with the inmates, aimed to interact with students and listen to them, coupled with seeing the hygiene and quality of meals. After visiting the facility, the DC desired and instructed for better availability of services and facilities for the students including better bedding and provision of water Purifiers and assured of providing the financial support for the assistance.
The tribal students of the hostel are enrolled in various schools at Shopian and are being provided free accommodation and education services for their development needs at the facility. The DC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz and other officers and officials.
