GCW Gandhi Nagar celebrates Vigilance Awareness Week

JAMMU, Nov 4: As part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2024, a vibrant Painting and Slogan Competition was organised today at the Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Under the theme "Culture of Integrity for Nation's Prosperity," this event sought to engage students in creatively expressing their commitment to honesty, transparency, and ethical conduct. The competition was a collaborative effort between the college's Internal Vigilance Committee and the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO).
Organised by the Internal Vigilance Committee of GCW, the event was led by Convenor Dr. Rabia Javed, along with committee members Dr. Anju Koul, Dr. Iqbal Qasim, and Prof. Paramjeet Singh. 50 students demonstrated their understanding of integrity and vigilance through striking paintings and impactful slogans, each reflecting their commitment to the nation's moral and ethical growth.
Distinguished HUDCO officials, including Bhomik Jain (AGM), Dipinder Kour (AM), Sukhdev Singh (Senior Transport Assistant), and Parveen Kumar (M.T.S.), graced the occasion with their presence, underscoring HUDCO's commitment to promoting integrity and transparency as fundamental principles within society.
Prof. Rakesh Singh, Head of the Department of Chemistry, and Dr. Samriti Agarwal, Head of the Department of Zoology, served as the judges for the competition, evaluating the entries based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and the power of the message conveyed. Speaking on the occasion , Dr. S P Saraswat, Principal of the College praised the students' artistic and rhetorical talent, noting how their contributions reflected a deep understanding of the importance of integrity in building a prosperous and corruption-free society.
The prize winners were announced at the end of the competition, and certificates were awarded to all participants in recognition of their enthusiasm and dedication to the cause. Abida Kousar of Sem -5, Anjali Choudhary of Sem - 1, Manvincee Kour of Sem - 1, Sheetal Bhudwal of Sem -1and Bavneet Kour of Sem -5 bagged 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively.
The Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 will continue with various activities aimed at fostering a culture of transparency and ethical conduct, reinforcing the message of integrity as a cornerstone for national prosperity.
