| 2 militants killed in Pulwama encounter | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, MARCH 30: Two unidentified militants were killed in a gunfight with Security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, official sources said here.
The gun battle took place at Moshwara village in Kellar area of South Kashmir Pulwama district.
Police, assisted by troops of Rashtriya Rifles, cordoned off the area following specific information about presence of militants, the sources said.
The hiding militants opened fire on the officials and in the ensuing gunfight, two militants were killed, the sources said.
The identity of the deceased militants and the group they belonged to was being investigated.
Two militants, including one Pakistani, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Tral area of South Kashmir Pulwama district three days ago. An army jawan who was hit during that anti-terror operation succumbed to bullet injuries late last night. |
