EO Shopian holds meeting on election expenditure accounts

SHOPIAN, Nov 4: The Expenditure Observer (EO) Shopian, Nelapatla Ashok Babu today conducted a meeting with the contesting candidates and agents of Shopian and Zainapora ACs of General Elections to Legislative Assembly (GELA), 2024 at Circuit House, Shopian.
Nodal officer Expenditure Monitoring, Muzafar Ahmad Rather, AEO Shopian and AEO Zainapora were also present on the occasion.
The Observer briefed about the importance of the final submission of accounts of election expenses by the candidates and the penalties in case of non submission of election expenditure.
The Observer also briefed about the different provisions related to the final submission of accounts as per the guidelines of ECI.
The Nodal officer, EEM and the AEOs detailed the candidates about the different annexures and the schedules to be filled by the contested Candidates while submitting the final Accounts.
The contested Candidates were briefed how to fill all the requisites documents to be annexed with their final Accounts.
During the meeting, candidates were instructed to submit their Election Expenditure Registers, completed in all respects, by or before the 30th day following the declaration of results.
The meeting was attended by candidates/ their authorized representatives, who were asked to submit their Election Expenditure Registers complete in all respects including signed Election Expenditure Registers, along with supporting vouchers, bank statements, affidavits, and other necessary documents, as mandated by the ECI guidelines within the stipulated period of time.
