Early Times Report

UDHAMPUR, Nov 5: Acting on the directives of District session Court and under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, a joint team comprising officers from the Municipal Council, Revenue and Police departments took formal custody of the Riwaayat Banquet Hall following the expiry of its tender period.
The operation was led by Executive Officer Municipal Council Vishal Sadhotra, Tehsildar and the Station House Officer. With the tender period over, the Municipal Council has reclaimed the facility to assess and strategize its future use to best serve the public interest.
EO Vishal Sadhotra emphasized that individuals who have pre-existing bookings at Riwaayat Banquet Hall should contact the Municipal Council Office for guidance and assistance.
The Council is committed to addressing public inquiries and ensuring smooth support during this transition phase.
Pertinent to mention here that the tender for Leasing out Multipurpose Hall was floated in the year 2016-17 for a period of 5 to 7 years. The tender was successfully awarded to Mr. Bikram Singh Slathia. In this regard, Bikram Singh Slathia filed a case in the District Court on 8-8-2023 but final verdict was granted by the court in favour of MC Udhampur and the petitioner was asked to vacate the building and clear all its pending dues.
