JAMMU, Nov 6: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Cyber Jagrookta Cell of Govt. College for Women Bhagwati Nagar organized a seminar on "Cyber Security and Awareness," led by college Principal Dr. Meeru Abrol. The event aimed to inform participants about cyber threats and equip them with strategies to protect personal and organizational data in the digital age. Prof. Shelly Kalsi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Sciences at Govt. Degree College R.S. Pura, served as the resource person, sharing insights on current cyber threats, including phishing, ransomware, and data breaches. She also emphasized the legal implications of cyber-crimes and the importance of cyber laws. Dr. Meeru Abrol highlighted the need for collaboration among individuals, organizations, and governments to combat cyber threats. Participants engaged in interactive sessions on building strong passwords and recognizing phishing tactics. The seminar was coordinated by Prof. Nisha Bhagat, IQAC Coordinator and Convenor of the Cyber Jagrookta Cell, and included hands-on activities to strengthen cyber security practices.
