| Bhat for expediting work on Kishen Ganga Hydel Project | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar Mar 31- Peoples Democratic Party General Secretary and MLA Nizamuddin Bhat has urged upon the government to expedite work at Kishen Ganga Hydel Project, for which decks were cleared since.
In a statement issued here he said that early completion of the project was essential to meet the power crises in the state and other needs like industrialization and employment generation.
Bhat said that along with the work at the project, the government should also ensure that spill over of the river Kishen Ganga shall not collect any silt into the Wullar Lake as is apprehended by environmentalists and experts. He said that NHPC be directed to allay the apprehensions and get technical clearance of this aspect at the earliest.
He said that it is also necessary that all issues with villagers getting affected by the Project should be sorted out by the district administration so that no impediments are created during the process of the project completion by the people involved.
Bhat said that since government is committed to utilization of water resources for big and small projects, he expressed hope that Arin Mini-Hydel project also will be cleared for construction.
