11/6/2024 10:07:14 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 6: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta today led a massive protest against the resolution passed by Jammu and Kashmir Assembly against the abrogation of Article 370 and 35 A..
During the protest in Jammu, BJP workers burned an effigy of the NC, denouncing the resolution as an "anti-national agenda" and accusing NC of rekindling divisive policies that undermine national unity.
Addressing the media persons, Kavinder Gupta asserted that the BJP remains steadfast in its commitment to uphold the abrogation of Article 370, which he highlighted as a historic decision by the Modi government aimed at fostering integration, development, and peace in Jammu and Kashmir. He condemned NC's actions, calling them a desperate attempt to revive outdated tactics and to fuel unrest, which goes against the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Kavinder further alleged bias on the part of the Speaker, accusing him of siding with the National Conference and enabling the passing of this anti-national resolution. "The Speaker's alignment with NC's agenda raises serious concerns about impartiality and respect for the democratic principles of the Assembly," he said.
"The BJP will not allow any such divisive narrative to overshadow the tremendous progress being made in the region," he stated. He emphasized that the revocation of Article 370 has paved the way for unprecedented development, transparent governance, and equality for all citizens in the Union Territory. "NC's stance is not only regressive but threatens the hard-earned peace that the region has witnessed," he added.
The protest saw enthusiastic participation from prominent BJP leaders, including District President Parmod Kapahi, former Minister Priya Sethi, former Mayor Rajinder Sharma, Veenu Khanna, Rajesh Gupta, and Keshav Chopra,Raman Sharma, Needhi Magotra, Anil Masoom, Savita Anand, and Parveen Kerni who echoed the sentiment that Article 370's abrogation was a step toward fulfilling the people's desire for lasting peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.
The BJP leaders reiterated that any move to restore Article 370 would be firmly opposed, as it is contrary to the principles of national unity and sovereignty.
