Police arrested 4 drug peddlers

SRINAGAR, Nov 6: Police have arrested four drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance worth lakhs from their possession in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district.
Police party of Kreeri at a checkpoint established at Vizer Crossing, intercepted one two wheeler and during search of the riders 1.47 Kgs of contraband dried Cannabis from their possession, a police official on Wednesday said.
The accused have been identified as Tanveer Ahmad Dar and Musaib Ahmad Dar both residents of Hadipora Baramulla were arrested and the two wheeler was also seized on spot.
In another operation at a checkpoint established at Check Tapper intercepted one person who was identified as Abdul Rashid Khan a resident of Kreeri and during his search 3 Kgs of contraband Poppy Straw like substances was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested
Another drug peddler identified as Abid Hussain Sofi of Yakhmanpora was arrested during at a check point at Chenabal near Jheel with 1.88 Kgs of contraband Charas like substances . Sofi was also rrested by the police.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Kreeri and Pattan and investigation has been initiated.
