JMC Commissioner conducts surprise sanitation check

JAMMU, Nov 8: Dr. Devansh Yadav, Commissioner of Jammu Municipal Corporation, conducted a surprise visit in wards 30, 32, 40, 41, and 61, alongwith surrounding areas like Vikas Lane, Talab Tillo, Poonch House, Gole Gujral, Akhnoor Road, Trilokpur, Pouni chak, Santra Morh etc. falling within the JMC limits. The purpose of this visit was to assess the sanitation scenario and verify the attendance of sanitation staff. The Commissioner during inspection stated that sanitation staff will create more awareness among the common masses for not throwing the garbage in water bodies and also stressed for maintaining cleanliness in the different wards. He requested for community involvement in waste management efforts. He encouraged residents to utilize dedicated vehicles for door-to-door refuse collection, saying that it would go a long way in contributing to the success of the Swachh Bharat Mission. Reiterating the JMC's commitment to enhancing municipal services by improving sanitation scenario which is a mandate of JMC to provide satisfactory sanitation services to the residents for which coordination of the general masses is required to achieve the desired goals.He requested the general not to throw the waste openly and Health Wing of JMC was directed to perform their legitimate duties with utmost satisfaction so that better sanitation facilities could be provided to the citizens and he added that any lapse shall not be tolerated in maintaining the sanitation services. This surprise inspection demonstrates the Commissioner's commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in Jammu's municipal areas.
