BJP's membership drive is to reach the common masses: Rekha Mahajan
11/8/2024 10:21:57 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 8: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District President Jammu South Rekha Mahajan urges Senior Citizens Rejuvenation Center in Trikuta Nagar to join the BJP's primary membership drive in J&K. She emphasized the importance of strengthening the hands of the Modi-led government, which has been instrumental in bringing about transformative changes in the region.
Rekha Mahajan encouraged the senior citizen members to become part of the world's largest party by giving a missed call on the BJP's toll-free number, 8800002024. This simple gesture, she explained, would demonstrate their commitment to the party's ideals and vision for a prosperous Jammu and Kashmir. She said the nationwide primary membership drive was delayed in the Union Territory due to the recently concluded Assembly elections. The membership drive at the national level was initiated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Rekha stated that now the target of this membership drive is to reach the common masses besides political workers, supporters, and sympathizers, which enables us to connect with the issues of people more effectively. We achieved more than 6 lakh targets in 2014 and 16 lakh 67 thousand members in 2019. This helped us to create history in J&K by securing maximum votes in assembly elections," she said. Recalling the BJP's rise from its humble beginning as a two-MP party in Lok Sabha, Rekha credited its commitment to the ideology of nation-first and people's welfare for its rise.
She elaborates that the BJP and its forerunner Jana Sangh were mocked by its rivals, she said, adding the ruling party has done a lot to change the country's political culture. She likened the BJP's membership drive to welcoming new members to a family. The drive is not about numbers but is all about an ideological and emotional campaign, Rekha added. She asked SCRC members to take up the challenge of building the BJP party and join hands to build the nation's progress under the dynamic leadership of PM Modi.
