South Zone Jammu police organizes Thana Diwas

JAMMU, Nov 8: Jammu Police, in a proactive step towards community engagement and crime prevention, organized a Thana Diwas in Police Station Gangyal today. The Thana Diwas saw the participation of members of civil society, sarpanch and councillors of the area. The function was presided over by SP South Jammu, along with SDPO South, SHO Gangyal and ICPP Greater Kailash. The primary focus of the event was to sensitize the local populace about the growing concerns of drug abuse, cybercrime, and social crimes.
There was also threadbare discussion on how to improve public participation in reducing normal violations of law and heinous offences. The participants also lauded the efforts of Gangyal PS in tracing out thefts, and apprehending criminals.
Key Highlights of the Thana Diwas:
*Interactive Sessions*: Police officers engaged with the public through interactive sessions, addressing their queries and concerns.
*Awareness Campaigns*: Informative campaigns were conducted to educate people about the ill effects of drug addiction, cyber threats, and the legal consequences of social crimes.
*Public Grievance Redressal*: A dedicated platform was provided for citizens to lodge their complaints and grievances, ensuring timely resolution.
*Community Policing Initiatives*: The event emphasized the importance of community policing and encouraged active participation from the public in maintaining law and order.
Thana Diwas is an important initiative to strengthen the bond between the police and the community. By addressing issues like drug abuse, cybercrime, and social crimes, we aim to create a safer and more secure environment for everyone.
