| Gandhi Nagar RWA hold meets with corporators | | | Early Times report Jammu, Mar 31: Gandhi Nagar residents welfare association (RWA) led by its president Ved Prakash Balotra had a meeting with Bansilal Gupta and Tilak Raj Gupta corporators of the area and apprised them about the problems being faced by the residents. In the meeting attention of the corporators was drawn by the members about the filth and dirt scattered and choking of drains in different areas including parks not being properly cleaned by the municipal staff. Members said that the cleaning should be certified by the Chairman of Mohalla Sub-Committes besides parks should be properly developed with fountains, greenery, flowers and benches in coordination with Director Gardens, Parks and Floriculture, Jammu. They also demanded not to demolish the enclosures for trees voluntarily planted by the residents on the roads till these trees are big enough to support themselves as the trees are the lungs of the area. Member also demanded to establish a community hall and library in the area. Both Corporators assured to look into the problems of the residents. On the direction of Bansi Lal Gupta, Corporator a committee was formed to coordinate with the corporators and Municipal Authorities. Ved Balotra, Chandra Uday Sharma, Gautam Soi, LM Khajuria, S. C. Rekhi, Ashok Gupta and Master C.L. Dogra were nominated to this committee. Balotra on the occasion thanked the Corporators for taking keen interest in the problems of Gandhinagar, and also thanked all the members particularly L.M. Khajuria who was instrumental in organizing this meeting.
