The world looks at Kashmir as a source of dispute between India and Pakistan, a trouble spot but people who will vote in the upcoming parliamentary elections are more worried about local issues, then Kashmir problem.
“Our priority is local issues like unemployment, roads and development, my participation in the Lok Sabha elections is nothing to do with the resolution of the Kashmir dispute” Till that (resolution) happens, my children cannot sit idle around and waste their youth. Some thing has to be done to secure their future and unless we have to vote right person to represent us, such bringing issues cannot be allowed to waste” said Mushtaq Ahmed a daily wager of Srinagar.
Bilkees Khan a law student said I will vote for Job, If the representative of my choice wins the election, I am sure he will do some thing to get me a government job some where as my parents are constantly worried about my unemployment and I must also do some thing to help my family. That is the reason why I will vote! said Bilkees.
There are many issues connected with the lives of the people. People have been denied their fundamental rights. Lost their loves ones. There is discrimination against families whose male members had become militants, for these strife torn families there is no rehabilitation. People know and understand these things. I hope this time people should not come under political influence and will vote for their own choice said Ghulam Rasool a farmer.
Infrastructure development has to be advanced, there is need to include vulnerable groups like unemployed youth and women in policy planning. Why should our youth go to Delhi-Mumbai for jobs? Jobs have to be created with in the state said Yameen Begum a private teacher in a private institutions as politicians during their campaign in the elections sell people dreams of several better change like electricity, road, water, employment so. The people also get moved by and caste there votes with greet enthusiasm. People expect these leaders after winning the election will solve the problems but every time the people are betrayed by these politicians said from last sixty years we have been the most of the politicians failed to keep their promises made at the time of campaign so how can we expect anything better from the Politicians in future. Yameen added.
Kashmiri speaking people belonging to twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri was held at Sidhra here today and the meeting was presided by Sayed Sajad Hussain Shah. The participants’ discussd the non serious attitude of govt towards the kashmiri speaking people of these twin districts of the state. The meeting was told that inspite of repeated appeals and requests, Kashmiri language is given a step motherly treatment here beside has never introduced in the school curriculum. In the past assurance was given that ST status will be given but till no action has taken place in this regard. The meeting also welcomed the statement of PDP, MLC Murtaza Khan and MLA Darhal Zulfikar Ali demanding a hill development council for Rajouri and Poonch. The meeting was addressed by eminent citizens like Ab. Salam Sofi, Mushtaq Malik, Haji Badur-ud-Din, Inder Kak and the people from Khawaja Biradari of the twin district.
