Jammu, Mar 31- Crime Branch Jammu today produced challan against the accused including the then Assistant Registrar and Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Rajouri for misappropriating lakhs of rupees and diverting the same for their personal use. The challen was presented in the court of law in a FIR 03/2003 U/S 420/ 409 /467/ 468/471 of RPC r/w 5(2) P.C Act against Shafiq Ahmed Choudhary son of Mohd. Hussain of Ward No.I Rajouri the then Assistant Registrar Co-operative Societies cum General Manager Marketing Society Rajouri and Kuldeep Sharma son of Chuni Lal Sharma the then Deputy Registrar Co-operative Societies Rajouri . The SSP Crime Branch said that acting on a complaint of one Mohammed Hanief Chairman Co-operative Marketing Society Ltd. Rajouri the Crime Branch took up the investigation. During the course of investigation, the relevant record of Co-operative Marketing Society Ltd. Rajouri, along with re-audit/audit reports were seized. Service book of accused along with relevant record was also seized. Statements of witnesses were recorded and questioned documents were sent to FSL for comparison/ opinion which were found positive. Relevant records of banks were also seized. During detailed investigation it was found that the accused committed various fraud and crimes of various natures over a period of 4 to 5 years. Accordingly the FIR No. 03/2003 was bifurcated in to four parts and all the offences investigated differently and all four challans have been produced against the accused along with his co-conspirator in the Court of Law for various offences. He said the offences proved against the accused the shape of evidence collected by way of records, seized documents, analyzed through FSL and other material evidence included misappropriation of huge funds by diverting them for personal use. This includes the amount which was initially sanctioned for the construction of Godown at Kothedhara, misappropriation of funds to the tune of Rs 4, 77,795 during his posting as General Manager Co-operative Marketing Society In view of facts surfaced during the investigation offences under sections 420/409/467/468/471 of RPC r/w 5(2) P.C Act are prima facie established against the accused persons which has been challenged in the Court of Law for Judicial determination, the SSP added.
