GLDM College Hiranagar marks National Education Day

JAMMU, Nov 11: In commemoration of National Education Day, Government GLDM Degree College Hiranagar organized an insightful extension lecture, aimed at promoting awareness about the importance of education.The event was held under the visionary leadership of Dr. Pragya Khanna, the Principal of the College.
The distinguished resource person, Prof. Daya Vilas, retired Principal of JKHED, delivered an inspiring lecture, sharing valuable insights on the role of education in shaping a progressive society. His vast experience and knowledge in the field of education left an indelible mark on the attendees.The program began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a Saraswati Vandana performed by students from the Department of Music. Prof. Rakesh Sharma extended a warm welcome to all attendees, and Prof. Shivani Slathia ,HOD Department of Education delivered the formal vote of thanks.
The event was graced by several distinguished faculty members, including Prof. Bindu Sharma, Head of the English Department; Prof. Rajni Bala, Head of Sociology; Prof. Poonam Kamotra, Head of Chemistry; Prof. Rajesh Sharma, Head of Mathematics; and Prof. Amit Sharma, Head of Political Science, who also shared valuable insights on the significance of National Education Day.
The event was meticulously managed by Prof. Shapia Shameem, NSS Coordinator of the College and Prof.Surinder Sharma.It was organized jointly by Department of Education and the NSS Unit of the college.The extension lecture was attended by a large number of students, faculty, and staff members who actively participated in the session, gaining a deeper understanding of the role of education in nation-building.
