11/11/2024 9:22:35 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 11: The public is informed that due to ongoing construction of a 4-lane flyover from 4th Tawi Bridge near Bhagwati Chowk to Bakshi Nagar, the following traffic advisory will be in effect for the next 15 days:
Heavy Vehicle Restrictions: The movement of heavy vehicles (Trucks, Trailers, Tractors, Dumpers, etc.) will be restricted from 4th Tawi Bridge Bhagwati Nagar to Canal Head and vice versa. These vehicles will be diverted to alternate routes.
Alternate Routes for Vehicles:
Heavy vehicles (HMVs) coming from Samba/Kathua destined for the Akhnoor axis will be diverted via the Ring Road towards their destination.
Vehicles coming from Akhnoor towards Samba/Kathua will also use the Ring Road for onward movement.
Single Lane for Light Vehicles:
Light motor vehicles (LMVs) and two-wheelers will ply in a single lane from Canal Head to Bhagwati Nagar 4th Tawi Bridge. The movement of traffic from Bhagwati Nagar 4th Tawi Bridge to Canal Head will remain restricted.
As the road will be operating with a single lane, congestion is expected on this stretch. Commuters are advised to use alternate Tawi Bridges for North-South movement to avoid delays. Traffic diversions will be implemented as needed to ensure smooth traffic flow.
