KVK Reasi organises training programme

REASI, Nov 12: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the aegis of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised training programme on"Agri-entrepreneurship development in rural areas " here today at tribal village Jadh in Reasi distt. of J&K which was attended by the number of tribal farmers of the area.The programme was organised under the dynamic stewardship of Vice Chancellor, Prof. B.N. Triptahi and able guidance of Director Extension (DE), Prof.Amrish Vaid of SKUAST- J. Dr. Banarsi Lal, Chief Scientist &Head of KVK, Reasi initiated the programme with the warm welcome of the participants.
He gave a detail view of agri-entrepreneurship and discussed on the production of cereals, pulses, oilseeds, aromatic and medicinal plants etc. of commercial level.He said the farmers that by commercial agriculture farmers can increase their crop production and raise the socio-economic status. He further added that hilly areas have immense scope in organic vegetables cultivation. He guided the farmers on the eco-friendly agricultural technologies for the organic and natural farming. He also elaborated on scientific cultivation of pulses and oilseeds crops as these crops have potential in the area. He gave technical guidelines on poultry farming, dairy farming, food processing, vegetable and fruit processing etc.He emphasized on the value addition in different crops by which the farm income can be enhanced. He also elaborated the vermicompsting technology and highlighted its benefits. He discussed on farm management practices for the maximum results. Farmers thanked KVK Reasi for organising such a useful programme. The programme was concluded by Manohar Lal with formal vote of thanks vote of thanks.
