11/12/2024 9:50:24 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 12: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya on Tuesday conducted a comprehensive review of the district's health sector operations and functioning of hospitals here at a meeting.
The meeting focussed on strengthening the Jan Aushadhi Kendras' operations, with the DC directing Block Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents to promote these centres among the public. Officers were also instructed to monitor for any interference with Jan Aushadhi sales. It was noted that a significant increase in Jan Aushadhi sales has been gained as compared to the previous calendar year.
It was noted that regular prescription audits are being conducted by all the Medical Superintendents and Block Medical Officers. The exercise is successfully ensuring that legible prescriptions are written by the doctors and contain only generic names of medicines.
The Sub-Divisional Magistrates were directed to conduct periodic inspection of private healthcare facilities within their jurisdictions, especially PCPNDT Act compliance, verifying nursing home licences and ensuring adherence to functional standards. The DC emphasised verification of medical practitioners' credentials at all healthcare establishments.
Stress was also laid on checking attendance and punctuality of medical and paramedical staff through strict maintenance of attendance registers and action against irregular functioning.
The meeting also evaluated the implementation progress of government initiatives including Janani Suraksha Yojana and Janani Shishu Karyakram.
Chief Medical Officer, Block Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents attended the meeting in person, while SDMs participated through virtual mode.
