DPS Jammu hosts CBSE Regional Science Exhibition

JAMMU, Nov 13: Delhi Public School Jammu successfully hosted the prestigious CBSE North Zone Regional Science Exhibition on November 8th and 9th, 2024, providing a dynamic platform for young innovators to showcase their scientific prowess. The event, aimed at fostering scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity, witnessed participation from 26 schools across Punjab and Jammu, with 39 teams comprising 78 students presenting innovative projects across seven key themes, including Health, Hygiene, Disaster Management, Waste Management, and more.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. Pankaj Goswami, Professor and Head of Animal Health and Microbiology at SKUAST Jammu, alongside Guests of Honour, Dr. Sanku Borkataki and Dr. Manjeet Singh. The distinguished panel of judges included experts from various academic and research institutions such as SKUAST Jammu, University of Jammu, and Central University of Jammu.
In her welcome address, DPS Jammu Principal, Ruchi Chabra, emphasized the importance of nurturing curiosity and innovation in students. Dr. Pankaj Goswami, the Chief Guest, encouraged students to pursue creative thinking and innovative solutions. The event highlighted a wide array of projects, including the "Digi Tutor" for interactive learning, "Automatic Waste Segregator" for efficient waste management, and "Highway Energy Harvesting" to generate electricity from traffic, showcasing the students' practical applications of scientific knowledge.
The exhibition concluded with the announcement of the winning projects, with 11 teams selected for the National Round, including schools such as Army Public School B.D. Bari, Army Public School Kaluchak, and Presentation Convent Sr. Sec. School Jammu. The winners were commended for their creativity, technical skills, and the educational value of their projects.
The event was expertly coordinated by DPS Jammu, with a dedicated team led by Vice Principal Meenu Gupta, Nodal Officer Insha Ahmad, and Program Coordinator Manika Verma. The vote of thanks was delivered by Headmaster Ravi Kumar Kotroo, who expressed gratitude to the guests, judges, participants, and the organizing team for making the event a success.
This grand event not only celebrated the scientific spirit but also reinforced DPS Jammu's commitment to fostering the next generation of innovators.
