Cop arrested for selling heroin at Jammu hospital

JAMMU, Nov 13: Jammu police with a clear stance of zero tolerance to Drugs abuse on 12.11.2024 arrested another police selection grade constable Mohd Mukhtiyar S/O Shah Mohd R/O Geloti District Udhampur A/P 76 Rakh Raipura Beli Charana, Jammu when an information from reliable source developed by Police was received that the said selection grade constable is selling narcotics for profit generation in the premises of Government Medical College, Jammu and is riding on his motor bullet motor cycle JK02 BW 1950.
Upon receiving information, Incharge police post GMC Jammu along with executive Magistrate started his search and found the said selection grade constable along with his motor cycle at GMC premises near Mortuary. Upon search 15 gram heroin like substance and cash Rs. 9000/- was recovered from his possession.
In this regard FIR No. 155/2024 stand registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation is in full swing.
The said selection grade constable Mohd Mukhtiyar is posted in Armed Police 12th Battalion Zewan, Srinagar and has been placed under suspension with immediate effect.
Accused Mohd Mukhtiyar is part of Drug syndicate which is active in Jammu and are selling drugs to innocent youth of the area for gaining undue profits from sale of narcotics and are responsible for overdose death due to drugs happening in the area.
Pertinent to mention here that this is 3rd FIR in this week after the launch of Zero Tolerance policy against drug peddlers by SDPO City West Jammu Dr Satish Bhardwaj who was recently also conferred with Home Ministers medal for excellence in Investigation. On 06.11.2024 another police Selection grade constable Perwaiz Iqbal S/O Mohd Ashraf R/O Gujjar Mohalla Janipur was arrested along with his two wives and 33 grams of Heroin was recovered from their possession in case FIR no. 128/2024 U/S 8/21/22/29/27A NDPS Act of PS Janipur.
Perwaiz Iqbal was posted in Crime Branch (NAFIS) Jammu.
SDPO City West and SP City North Brijesh Sharma JKPS are personally supervising the investigation to dug out the backward and forward linkages of these Drug peddlers to dismantle the whole ecosystem of Drug menace developed by the Drug Syndicates of the area. Their financial investigation is also going on to know about the property acquired by these Black Sheep and to further attach their illegitimate property which is proceed of narcotics.
SgCt Mohd Mukhtiyar and SgCt. Parwaiz Khan's arrested has proved that police is duty bound to save the innocent youth of this country from the menace of drug abuse with zero tolerance to peddlers who are doing this immoral trade which has resulted in many youth's death due to overdose.
Police's swift action and apprehension of these black sheep has been appreciated by public.
