Commissioner JMC Dr Devansh Yadav reviews grievances of residents

JAMMU, Nov 14: Dr. Devansh Yadav (IAS), Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation today visited W. No 62, Upper Roop Nagar falling under the jurisdiction of Jammu Municipal Corporation. During the tour, Commissioner took stock of grievances of residents of the said ward. The residents raised the issues of street lights & High Mast Lights, water supply, sanitation, water cooler, parks, bathing ghat and e-Buses etc. The residents apprised him that most of the street lights are non-functional due to which the areas remained dark in the night. The residents requested for repair as well as installation of new lights. The Commissioner, JMC issued immediate directions to the Executive Engineer (E), JMC, for resolving the issue of street lights at the earliest. He also asked the XEN (E) to get the water cooler(s) repaired.
On the issue of water supply, the Commissioner, JMC issued directions to the concerned Executive Engineers to ensure proper water supply in the area. He further issued directions to the Health Wing of JMC to provide satisficatory services to the residents of the area and he also checked the attendance of the Sanitation workers and Health Officer was directed to issue notice to absentees.
The residents raised the issue of e-buses and requested the Commissioner, JMC to start the services of e-buses in the area as number of persons come to pay obeisance at Aap Shambu Mandir but in absence of the e-bus service they face lot of inconvenience. The Commissioner assured them the e-bus service shall start soon in the area. He also directed the Engineering Wing of JMC to prepare an estimate for development of green strip at the main road leading to Aap Shambu temple. He also issued directions to the Secretary, JMC for development as well as renovation of parks in the area and added that parks are the outlook of the areas that must be developed in such a way it should add more beauty to the areas. The Commissioner, JMC stated that the aim of conducting tour in the area is to provide instant relief to the residents for which directions have been issued to the Officers concerned to take corrective measures to resolve the grievances. The residents of the area extended special thanks to the Commissioner, JMC for visiting their area and patiently listen to their grievances and assured him that whatever cooperation is required from their end shall be provided to JMC.
During the tour, Chand Singh, Secretary, Dr. Vinod Sharma, Health Officer, Akhil Dutt, Executive Engineer, Div-III, S. Simranpal Singh, Executive Engineer(E), JMC, Talat Mehmood Khan, CTO, Rabia Khan, AFO alongwith subordinate staff accompanied the Commissioner, JMC.
